The big wheel manufacturers like Mavic make some astonishing wheels, they’re lightweight, aerodynamic and make use of some cutting edge technology. However, they will never beat the feel of hand-built wheels. The ability to select exactly what you want from your wheels, built exactly the way you want them, and to be safe in the knowledge that your unique wheelset has been built, by hand, by a master wheel builder, is something factory built wheels simply cannot match.

 

As with all bike parts, what works for one person won’t always work for another. Factory wheels tend to come with one lacing pattern, if you’re too heavy for it then you’re out of luck, and if you’re a hill-climbing whippet you’ll be stuck with a load of spokes you’re never going to need. This doesn’t even take in to account specialist wheels – you want a single speed hub, and a disc brake, on carbon rims? Large manufacturers just don’t cater for niche interest stuff. That’s where we come in. We actively look for the niche parts, the wild rims and the hubs that can do everything. We import gorgeous NJS track hubs as well as super-high end British built road hubs and everything in between – whatever you need built, we can make it happen.
