Another gorgeous Indy fab build has just rolled out of the doors – this one a Titanium Crown Jewel. Built up with Campagnolo Record, Enve forks and a gorgeous Chris King headset, the bike might just do justice to the frame. See more pictures of this build on .
The incredible thing about this frame is the shot-peened texture. After welding, Independent Fabrications bombard the frame with tiny metal balls, creating this fascinating surface texture. It also almost doubles the longevity of the frame, releasing the tension in the tubes caused by the welding process, and vastly reducing the chance of fatigue cracks or hairline fractures in the frame. It also looks amazing, very different to the regular dull grey of many Ti frames.
An incredibly subtle build, the simple colours belie the quality of all the parts – those nondescript rims are actually destickered HED Ardennes, 23mm wide for racing on cobbles or worse, laced to Hope hubs.
