The Madone is made from 500 Series OCLV Carbon, and an already race-winning bikes has been improved with aerodynamic tubing. The KVF (Kammtail Virtual Foil) tube shapes are aerodynamic, but with the tailing edge clipped off, making the frame UCI compliant, aerodynamic and with extremely high torsional stiffness. Other features like the E2 Tapered Headtube which provides an aerodynamic shield for the front brake, the matching full carbon fork and the bottom-bracket mounted rear brake make for a truly impressive frameset.

The Bontrager accessories compliment the high level frame - Ultegra groupset with a compact 50/34 ratio provides fast, dependable shifting at a low weight, and the tubeless-ready Bontrager Race wheels are a brilliant all-year wheelset, sealed against the rain, but also stiff and fast enough for a decent race wheel.

Started in 1975 in Waterloo, Wisconsin, Trek bicycles started off selling hand-made steel touring frames. However, they now represent one of the biggest manufacturers in cycling, the a prestigious history supplying some of the most successful riders in professional cycling, including Lance Armstrong and Fabian Cancellara. Trek were one of the first major manufacturers to make a foray in to carbon fibre frame production, and still make all their high end OCLV carbon fibre frames in Waterloo where they started.
