Headsets

The headset manages the connection between your forks and your frame, and a decent headset will give you years of smooth steering. There are plenty of different types of headset, from nut-tightened to modern tapered and integrated. The main thing to watch out for when purchasing a headset is that it is the correct size for your frame, and works with your forks. Most frames will take either 1 inch or 1 and 1/8th inch headset, and will either be threaded to accept old style quill stems or threadless to give a clamping area for modern A-Head stems.
