Locks

If you love your bike, you want to keep it. Unfortunately, there are people who want your bike too. Especially in high-crime areas like London, the advice is to invest roughly 1/4th the price of your bike in locks. We've got a wide range of locks in various different designs to ensure your bike stays where you left it. D-Locks are great for attaching your bike to a stand, and many come with brackets for attaching them to the bike. Make sure the space inside your D-Lock is as full as possible, to stop leverage and twisting attacks. Chains will let you lock your bike to pretty much anything, and the heavier locks are almost unbreakable, but they're very heavy. Cable locks are good for secondary security, but are easily foiled by bolt-croppers. High level locks like Kryptonite offer insurance with their locks, claimable if you can prove their lock was broken. Look for Solid-Secure ratings for an easy guide to how tough a lock is compared to others, and many insurers require you to use Solid Secure Gold rated locks. Our advice would be to use 2 locks, preferably of different styles, to secure both wheels and your frame to a safe stand. Don't let your bike become another statistic, keep it safe.
