"Build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis" Patagonias mission statement says it all. Their roots in alpinism and climbing in the 1950's led to the development of Patagonia in the 1970's by a team of climbers, surfers and skiers, who realised the need for more technical clothing, specific to their activities. They developed technical fabrics using new technologies and paved the way for contemporary outdoor clothing.
