Ambrosio wheels have been a market leader in race wheels since their inception during the early 20th century in Turin. Since then, Ambrosio have had a triumphant relationship with many of the great names in the sport, like Moser, Hinault, Lemond, and Fondriest. Ambrosio was the first to produce lenticular carbon fiber wheels, among the first to produce wheels for mountain bikes in Europe, and one of the only manufacturers to use welded aluminium for race level tubular rims.
