Chains

The chain is the heart of the drivetrain on any bike. If you've ridden with a worn or dirty chain, you'll know how sluggish the bike can feel. However, a well maintained chain is silent and effortless, transferring all your power with efficiency. Track and BMX chains are designed to stay put on single chainring and cog, and are built tough to deal with high power transfer or the abuse of tricks. The chains designed for geared bikes tend to be slimmer, with ramps and cut outs to effect easy and smooth shifting. Keeping your chain lubricated and free of dirt will extend its life hugely, but making sure you have the right chain is one of the most important factors in making your bike fly!
