Shifters

Being able to shift when necessary is a vital part of riding, and having the right shifters is the key. There are loads of different shifting systems, from down-tube mounted friction shifters to high-end electronic shifting. Modern shifting is mostly integrated with the brakes, but thumb shifters and down-tube shifters are still popular for retro builds or mountain bikes. It's important to get a shifter that works well with your deraileurs and is designed to work with the right number of rings and cogs on your bike.
