Gearing
The combination of chainrings, cog or cassettes you pick for your bike decides how high your gearing is going to be. The wider the difference between the chainring on the front and the cog on the back, the tougher it's going to be to pedal, and the faster you'll be going. Gearing is usually measured in Gear Inches (GI), the higher the GI, the bigger the ratio and the harder the gear. A fixed gear can only operate under one gear at a time, where as geared bikes can adjust their gearing for the terrain. We'd recommend a gearing between 60 and 80 for fixed gear road riding, depending on how hilly your area is, anything higher than that and you're pushing track gearing.
