Made with race-winning Cannondale DNA, the CAAD8 has been taken to the limit of what aluminium can achieve. Cannondale were perfecting aluminium while other major manufacturers were making ill-fated forays in to early carbon fibre, and it shows in the CAAD8. Borrowing the racing geometry from the Supersix, the CAAD8 has a slightly taller headtube to allow for longer riding in a more comfortable position, perfect for long distance or endurance riding. The chainstays are optimised for comfort as well as lateral rigidity, which, combined with the geometry and the carbon fork, means you've got a bike which will perform in traffic light sprints but still be comfortable for long days of riding.
Built up with Sora components and a FSA Vero compact crank, this is an excellent, hard-wearing build. They're trouble-free parts for year-round riding, but the shifting is smooth and efficient. The compact 50/34 chainrings and the 12-26 speed SRAM cassette gives an excellent range of gears for any kind of riding.
