Company: Everything from Tonic Fabrication is hand made in house by the two man team Landon & Tony. Everything, from custom-bending the tubes to CNC machining the hardware. This allows them the flexibility to construct some of the toughest, smoothest and most rugged frames we’ve seen in years. Tonic’s background is in jump bikes, before branching out in to track bikes, cross and road. Shying away from fancy features and pointless brazing, the technical side of Tonic bikes really shines through; their attention to frame design, their signature head tube stack, the use of BB30 in their cross models and the wishbone stays are subtle nods for those in the know. When all these features come together you get something unique, understated and very special.
Accolades: Tonic frames might be understated, but they’re not unappreciated. BikeRadar praised the smooth ride and shock absorption of the Vanishing Point, whilst Tony and Landon are hard at work supplying an entire Japanese cyclocross team with Magnum CX bikes, and Tonic cross bikes have been on the podium for cyclocross events across the world. You don’t need a review to tell you just how special these frames are.
