Absolutely one of the nicest wheelsets wehave ever seen, let alone make ourselves! H Plus Son's phenomenal TB14 rims laced to the top-level Keirin hubs from Dura Ace with Sapim Race spokes, this wheelset is designed to bring serious performance to old steel track bikes; the ultimate marriage of modern advantages and classic looks.
The H Plus Son TB14's are a revelation; taking the cutting edge enhancement offered by 23mm wide rims, but in a classic box section profile. The 23mm bead width means that 23c tyres, preferred by the pros, sit with straight sidewalls directly out of the rim, rather than being pinched in to 19mm rims and bulging out. This means the tyre has better contact definition, for more grip and hugely improved handling. Until recently this width was only being made for pro rims, but H Plus Son have taken it upon themselves to bring those features to a gorgeous 14mm deep box section rim with re-enforced eyelets - finally you can restore classic bikes without having to sacrifice comfort and performance.
Dura Ace 7600 hubs are instantly recognizable from their resin hub-shells and obscenely high flanges. This makes for a really stiff, really light hub that's used by almost all top level Keirin riders. Only the 36 hole hubs are NJS certified, so that's what we use. The hubs are laced up with Sapim Race spokes - one of the best regarded double butted spokes around. This means it's a completely stiff, lightweight wheel set that's great for either top level track racing or an amazing street bike.
